The UNESCO Beaver Hills Biosphere

Just 20 minutes east of Edmonton, Alberta, the farm is located in the Beaver Hills Biosphere, which is a rare and ecologically rich landscape recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere since 2016. One of only 19 biospheres in Canada, this unique region is defined by rolling hills, vital wetlands, diverse forests, and an abundance of wildlife. The Biosphere is home to 48 species of mammals, 8 species of amphibians and reptiles, and over 150 bird species – making it a critical area for biodiversity conservation in Alberta.
